A native of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, Julia began working in commercials, regional and community theater when she was 8.She also performed regularly in Boston Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker." Jones moved to New York to attend Columbia University and began modeling internationally.She appeared in ads for such companies as Levis, Esprit, and Polo Ralph Lauren. Julia's first film was "The Look," a dark comedy that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2003. In addition, she played the love interest in Rick Schroder's directorial debut, "Black Cloud," opposite Schroder and Tim McGraw.After finishing school, she was cast in several independent films, including the Quentin Tarantino produced biker remake "Hell Ride," and she had a recurring role as Dr. Kaya Montoya on "ER" in its final season. In 2010, she played Dakotah in "Palestine, New Mexico" at The Mark Taper Forum, Josh Brolin's wife Cassie in "Jonah Hex," and Leah Clearwater in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."Her role expands in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1" and, in addition to returning in "Breaking Dawn: Part 2," this year she appears in the independent films "Missed Connections," a romantic comedy set in New York, and "Winter in the Blood," a Western based on the land mark novel by James Welch. She is currently filming "Tao of Surfing," directed by Lou Diamond Phillips.
